Chris started Gentry's BBQ in 2016 with a bottle of Roscoe's Mop Sauce. With a passion for flavor, he quickly grew his line-up to 10 sauces & seasonings, highlighted by winning BEST MUSTARD IN THE WORLD at the prestigious Memphis in May World BBQ Championship in 2018. Chris opened Gentry's BBQ General Store in April 2019, a niche boutique offering high-end grills, accessories, outdoor kitchens & education. The store was sold in October 2023 so Chris can follow his true passion of cooking and bringing people together through pop-ups, catering & private events.
Our menu is inspired by Chris's travels to the most sought after BBQ joints in the US, our love of bringing people together & our award-winning bold flavors. From Central Texas style beef brisket & dino ribs to Eastern NC pulled pork & spare ribs, we offer a wide variety of southern eats that are sure to satisfy any BBQ craving. We use only the freshest ingredients and source locally whenever possible.
Chris Gentry is an award-winning pitmaster with years of live fire cooking experience. As a NC native, BBQ is in his blood. Chris smokes his meats low & slow, cooking o offset smokers from Primitive Pits. Having lived in NC, TX, VA & GA by the time he graduated high school, Chris's cooking style is inspired by his southern roots.
